Butterfly Hero

Freddie, a Monarch butterfly rarely seen in the UK, arrives in Kew Gardens on the breath of the wind. But nobody, not even he, knows why he is there. What will he do when he learns that it is only by his death that the other butterflies can escape the danger of the predatory birds…

Congratulations to everyone for last night’s opening performance of Butterfly Hero. The reaction from the audience was absolutely fantastic. Everyone at the Lyric is very proud to have played a part of this project and we look forward to establishing a long-term relationship with St Pauls CE Primary School.

Congratulations on a terrific achievement. I was really pleased to see it. It’s inspiring to see how a demanding project like that can bring out amazing things – both on stage and off – in its participants. And you also brought in larger spiritual themes as well. A passion play for the garden!

Just wanted to drop a quick note and say how I was blown away by the show Butterfly Hero last Thursday. I couldn’t believe that primary school children could deliver that kind of quality work which was so entertaining on many levels. It was particularly satisfying to see children interacting with stimulating material they clearly enjoyed and music which they could relate to.
I so enjoyed your play. I really hope you had fun over the last 3 nights and enjoyed the fruits of your labour over the last year. What a powerful and brilliant story. There must be lots of scope to take this into schools and also a very powerful thing to put on in the run up to Easter.

I loved Butterfly Hero. As well as a great story, the musicality was amazing and to see it bring out so much good in the cast was truly wonderful. When are you going to The West End?
A brief note to say how very much I enjoyed Butterfly Hero. Congratulations on a brilliant work. I hope that you are hugely encouraged. What a blessing for our school. What a blessing for what I believe will be hundreds of schools.

The principles and values that underpin Solid Rainbow could not come to life in a more special way than through our involvement in Butterfly Hero. We are blessed to be part of such an amazing project and the gifts of creativity, community and respect have had an amazing effect on our school community. We cannot wait til the 29th Feb and 1st and 2nd March to perform our Solid Rainbow production at Lyric Hammersmith.
